Hasbeens was created in 1999 following a "mini-reunion" (ok, it was a gathering at the Irvine Spectrum to see the opening of Star Wars: Episode I) of some East siders from Disneyland Attractions.
After having a great time we saw the need to keep everyone together thus Hasbeens was born.
Of course the site didn't look like it does now. We did have a mailing list and that kept everyone together.
Over the years more and more members joined the site. We used to have a vouching system so current members had to select who they remembered. We did away with that system in favor of a more detailed description of where and when you worked. In now take a few minutes to become a member instead of a few hours or a few days (and sometimes not at all). We have had debates on the site as to whether or not to open it up to other areas of Disneyland and to other parks but fortunately we opted for everyone being able to enjoy the site.
So that brings us to today where we have nearly 5,000 members and thousands of pictures throughout the site. We have a message board and an emailing system and we never lost sight of the goal of the site.. to bring cast members together.
